Once again we're featuring our CONTEST"A Picture Worth 500 Words"
Click here for the picture, and details.GENERAL GUIDELINES: We consider submissions of any length. However, we particularly welcome poetry and very short prose or cross-genre* pieces (1000 words or fewer), since they are "screen-reader friendly." We encourage hypertext submissions, and also consider original graphics in gif or jpeg format.
Writers may submit up to 5 poems or 2 prose or hypertext pieces. While we prefer to see work that has not been previously published, we consider work that has appeared in small-circulation print journals.HOW TO SUBMIT: Email submissions to Sara McAulay, as a Rich Text Format (RTF) attachment or as plain text in the body of your message, and with TH5 in the subject line. For hypertext submissions, provide us with an URL where we may view the work online. Gif and jpeg files should be no more than 100 dpi, and in general we prefer that they be no larger than approx 400 pixels on a side -- a courtesy to readers with dial-up internet connections.
* "Cross-genre" = prose-poems, pieces that fall into cracks between established genres -- anything we like that's not easily categorized.
TATTOO HIGHWAY is one of three literary journals published by the Creative Writing Program of the Department of English, California State University, Hayward.
