These are two-day hands-on workshops on location at the instructor's studio, where we will explore the world of found object art using various metals collected by the students as well as some on hand. The facility has the capability to handle metal parts up to two tons. A forklift will be available if needed. So, load up the trunk of your car or the back of a pick up with "junk" and come prepared to have a good time. The emphasis of this class will be to see the intrinsic beauty of the mundane in our environment and explore the possibilities of rearranging our world in such a way to see it all as art, and as a part of that process, we will merge the mundane and the sublime, creating found object sculpture. Some welding experience is necessary . . . see 'Zen & the Art of Welding.'
